Maria Sookias

Maria is an LGBTQ+ activist, trainer, consultant, and former CEO with over 30 years of experience working in the voluntary sector.

 

Her career includes supporting survivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence, those who are homeless, living in poverty, and those who have experienced multiple forms of discrimination and disadvantage.  As an Anglo-Armenian woman with both Polish Jew and Iranian heritage, she is an intersectional feminist with a personal interest in supporting refugees and new migrants in the UK.  

 

She works with teams to overcome structural inequality and engender positive change.
